Firstly, I think it’s important to see if the website’s bad layout is as badly effective as it seems at first glance. Mushon brought up the simple Google page and how it actually attracts more use. Perhaps for Firstlisten, it’s all in the bad layout. And is FirstListen successful in the grand scheme of things anyway?
Secondly, I want to look into the ways of communication, both between the listeners and the website and the website and the artists. I learned about FirstListen through word of mouth, and I passed it on that way as well. And I’m not really sure if FirstListen wants to recruit people anyway- I’m assuming that fewer artists want to give out free music when they have to give it out to a large amount of people. And how are these artists chosen anyway?
I emailed the FirstListen gang, and should be hearing from them soon!
