cURL redesign
Hey guys,
Sorry I missed class yesterday, it was unexpected. I made some changes to the homepage based on the comments so let me know what you think. I may have made it worse though… haha. I took away the underlines, which I think looks better. I kept the blue because it just feels like it works for them, but if people are against it I can change it. I added a quick download button, but they haven’t gotten back to me yet on whether I can do that. I also asked about a video, but they haven’t responded to that yet either. Do you think I should change the color scheme altogether? Let me know what you think!
Thanks,
Sheila
Comments
Hi Sheila, sorry for the late response.
This is indeed making some progress. Some issues yet to address are:
- Hierarchy - what should I read first? what would my eye recognize and know to be drawn to or skip easily.
- Can you give me a one sentance explanation of what is curl which I can easily read and then the rest of paragraph I will turn to if I so choose?
- Were you considering the screencast?
- Colors - it is still a bit dull color wise and can be more exciting with a bit more defined graphic identity.
- Layout - the header seems sold while the body floats under it, the page should work better as a consistent unit.
I hope this helps and I hope you continue to have a good communication with them. Who knows, you might end up a command line hacker…

dear sheila…i enjoy your curl logo. However though i think the header is too dark and heavy in term of the width. Incorporating some splash of white might help or the same treatment you used for download box, gradient. Moreover, im not sure about the relationship of FAQ and Search box……hope this is helpful….Nice job!!!! you definitely make users like me less scared of http://FTP…...^^
