Mailman
OS Project
latest update on my OS project. To make the it easier to read, I created a vertical bar to show the threads of the post. When the cursor click on the 1st post of the thread, the background of that post will turn into yellow background, so people can easily differentiate that which entries belong to the thread.
MAILMAN
this is the layout design of Mailman’s mailing list page. Theimage below is the current archive page which does not have any styling and as the list goes longer, it gets about messy. What i did was have the authors’ names moved to the left side since subject titles tend to be longer than the names. This way, they can be arranged neatly. I want to use the mailman logo in all the archive pages as well as the mailling lists as seen here. The color choices I used are inspired from the current Mailman homepage. In the next revision, I will add a home link button back to the Mailman homepage. And of course, I will add the date right aligned for each entry.
OPEN SOURCE PROJECT
I’ll be doing my open source project on Mailman. I will be concentrating changing the look and feel of the website. Mailman is a freesoftware for managing electronic mail discussion and e-newsletter lists. Mailman is integrated with the web, making it easy for susers to manage their accounts and for list owners to administer their lists. Mailman supports built-in archiving, automatic bounce processing, content filtering, digest delivery, spam filters, and more.
It gives each mailing list a web page, and allows users to subscribe, unsubscribe, etc over the web. Mailman integrates most things people want to do with mailing lists, including archiving, mail-to-news gateways, spam prevention, email-based admin commands.
THere are other softwares similar to MailMan. such as Majordomo. & SmartList .
Both of these sites are nicely done or more professional looking than MailMan. Right now, MailMan site looks like a start-up / low budget site. It doesn’t look like it has been there since 1998.
It is a freesoftare, distributed under the GNU general public license. The software is written in the Python programming languages.
Right now the website is very poorly designed itself and it is very difficult to find the link to the actual mailman software
The lead developer of Mailman is Barry Warsaw (barry@list.org).

BLOG ALMOST FINISHED - revision
I tried to use different typeface to change the “default”ness of the blog. I personally think it’s working a bit better. I also changed the font smaller and increase the line height so it becomes easier to read.

BLOG ALMOST DONE ?!
Take a look at my revision of the blog.
I changed the background and i know the content font size needs to be bigger for easy read. I will change the profile picture also.

edit:
This is the final version before i add round corners. Still trying to figure out and researching other theories on round corners.
Personal Blog
This is what I have so far. I understand there are many adjustment issues I have to fix. This is the version without any roundcorners. Also I’m still working on putting an image in one of the posts.
Round Corners
I just did some research on how to make round corners.
Here is an example of how they use it , here .
Blog Design / Word Press
so here is what i have so far for the blog in html/css. I have trouble moving the sidebar up to be inline with the box with my name on it.
Re:Revised Blog Design
So I’ve made some further changes. I’ve made the background color lighter to show more contrast. I also flipped the picture and moved the navi to the name box. I think round corners is just a personal preference and most likely I wont’ change it .
