well, TightVNC it is.
It seems every one votes for the unsuccessful design of TightVN. A quote from Ryan,”… their whole aesthetic is like some early ’90s accounting/party banner software.” I have no idea what “…accounting/party banner software” means, but sounds very terrible and scary.
My reasons for redesign the interface are…
- The size of the type is too big to read though the average words per line is around 15 which is the standard. I will reduce the type size to increase readability
- the color pallet of light pinkish beige, brownish scarlet , and default green is very unattractive. In addition to the light shade of pinkish beige for the background, the site is in the worst condition. I will try to work with the same main colors but with different shades and add different colors. So hopefully I can give a modern touch on it
- The navigation bar and body text are just hurting my eyes due the lack of hierarchy. I will give more size points so users will actually willing to spend more time on the site.
- In term of its layout, i want to keep most of the elements the same order or places and see if i can improve the design with limits.
- I just hate the logo. Redesign logo was my first intention because I just learn how to design logo this term. Well, I will do it if time allows.
- Concept!!! Im thinking about the REMOTE CONTROL theme. Something like TV remote control, metaphorically, so users like me will get the idea faster and be less afraid of downloading the software.

what i can do
1. Tight VNC it is my intention to redesign the logo of this software. Tight VNC is a free remote control software package. With TightVNC, you can see the desktop of a remote machine and control it with your local mouse and keyboard, just like you would do it sitting in the front of that computer. If time allows, i want design the layout too.
2. Audacity I like the logo of this software. So i want to redesign the layout of this site. So that the design works better with its logo.

here is the site for my first-try blog, that’s how i deal with titled-image background. the illustrations will be click-able, functioning as categories. Im not sure what do now. Do i code the comments and posts and meta??? and make it look like my design?? Or I should turn into wordpress??? …I’ve uploaded wordpress to my site, what should i do now???

so the header is the beige part…the rest will be tiled image….i still trying to make it work….i set my image of 1024 pixel x 3000 pixel and save for web file, png…..and why is the size is not right according to Mushon’s previous comment??? help

for 2nd version, the sketch book is the real size. i make the folded line less obvious. It is my hope that all the content are recorded on the sketch book.

Shape Shifter (ryan) / FaceBook / Blog
shape shifter is cool!!! i saw ryan using it. I believe it’s soft ware that change the themes of mac desktop. Cian was very nice and downloaded for me. however, i still don’t know how to apply the application. But, people, check out ryan’s computer….it’s black….pretty cool, but Michael, the sub, said it wasn’t cool….But i still like it….just wish i know how to make it work for mine!!!!
facebook is very cool as well. i like its functions, literally can do anything on the site, i feel facebook is like NYC, melting pot. with its complicated functions, it is still managed to be friendly to user…amazing to me, though i am always lost in the site. I do have an account “yulanpeng@hotmail.com” add me please..let’s be more than classmates….lets be friends!!!
