no restraints on scrolling this time but having trouble dealing with a double background. I know its impossible to do but I know it can be done because i.dream.cx has it and maybe its java…. I designed this and someone else did the code way back and I just wish I could figure out how this was done.

Zero Plane 2
I think I may have to get my own server after all… but being flat broke and unable to afford it I am really depending on my friend to fix wordpress… Right now I am simply coding in a normal css site.
There is no content yet. It took me awhile just to set this up. now I have to deal with the overflow of text and scrolling. hopefully I can get this to work.

This is round two of design. I plan to use the right area for image thumbnails and the left area for explaining text and during the gallery location I want it to be the table of contents. also I am thinking of a fixed header.

For today’s addition to the critique I have to think about the way my graphics might overpower my data. Actually I can’t help but itch my graphic muscles and I should learn more restraint to achieve my goal of making this a real portfolio site. Also the menu is definitely something I have to think of. I just finished painting my new background so once it has dried I will scan it in and use it instead. It is something much simpler and very subtle but I think that I do want the viewer to know my aesthetics and style just on the first page and not just by scrolling my post. As statistics say, 7 secs and the viewer will be gone. Its a short short time to catch someone’s attention.
Basically I have had problems with my admin because I didn’t have access to change or post on the site for the longest time, Everything had to be done on ftp and it wasn’t right. I called and got that fixed but the fact that extend.css cannot override the css already there worries me. I will contact my admin today and see if the cache is working properly or if it should be disabled so that I can see new changes made.

please use this 3 column layout site as reference if you need help in setting something up. It is really easy to understand and play with in case you get stuck with blueprint or sandbox.
this site can be used for free once a day and it tests your site on a multitude of browsers available around the world. I use this all the time to make sure that my site is compatible with opera, IE 4-7, safari, older versions of firefox and so on…. I think its really important to realize things like IE’s inability to read borders as anything but space. Lots of IE bugs that become apparent once you use this to test it. Remember, site looking great on firefox does not mean it will look great elsewhere even with validated code! as I have painfully discovered.

Wordpress
My administrator has been assisting me in some problems I’ve had with my servers. Joomla messed up the server I was going to use for wordpress and we spent the better part of the weekend testing and clearing out Joomla 1.0.13… nasty! I finally have a website and will pop the graphics up as soon as I get out of class. My concept is based on broken glass and kaleidoscopes. The color theme I would like to be azure. Well I will do my best with sandbox but somehow overriding using extend.css seems to not be working really well. I would like to attach one more css document if I am allowed to. It seems extend just can’t overcome all the code. If I do figure out joomla maybe I should introduce it for the great wide open. Joomla is HELL on earth! if I ever figure it out I will definitely warn people away from it.
