Of the new options, I like the black+white version the best. I think the all black version goes a little too far into the command line look; it's not so much the color as the combination of color with linear arrangement of information... I think it either needs less information or what's there needs to be broken out into a grid and/or hierarchy somehow. I still like your blue version the best, my only major comment there is that the "quick download" box might benefit from being a little smaller and having a little more "pop"/dimension.

This is looking great... I especially like the "waiting for response" overlay and the "chatting w/ video" dock icon.

It looks like you dont have a theme applied to the blog at all. Have you uploaded the sandbox theme? In the Admin page in Wordpress, click on Design -> Themes and there should be a list of themes. If you dont see any, there might be something wrong with your wordpress install. If you already have the theme installed, maybe the css files aren't there. Thats a more likely explanation. The style.css needs to be in the main folder for your theme. and that should link to the typography and whatever other css files that the blueprint css thing links to (they should be included automatically in the style.css unless you modified it). It should also link to the extend.css (or whatever the name of the css file is that you are using for your css modification. Let me know is this helps....

Thanks Mushon,
I am excited, but unfortunately we haven't had much interaction this week. I hope it works out! I don't know why I never think to use my hosting space more often, it's so much more practical! Thanks for the ideas!

Hi Sheila, sorry for the late response.

This is indeed making some progress. Some issues yet to address are:

Hierarchy - what should I read first? what would my eye recognize and know to be drawn to or skip easily.

Can you give me a one sentance explanation of what is curl which I can easily read and then the rest of paragraph I will turn to if I so choose?

Were you considering the screencast?

Colors - it is still a bit dull color wise and can be more exciting with a bit more defined graphic identity.

Layout - the header seems sold while the body floats under it, the page should work better as a consistent unit.

I hope this helps and I hope you continue to have a good communication with them. Who knows, you might end up a command line hacker...

This looks promising, are you excited about this interaction?

I think you can simply upload the images to your hosting space and provide them with the link - simplest.

Hi Kellie,

knowing your work for a while I know you can do better than that. Moreover, I know how your design can look good when you're into it, and this doesn't seem to be the case. I don't want you to design as a way of doing your school assignment here. I want you to design because that's what you're excited about. I don't think I would be too far from the truth if I would guess that you're not excited about designing this webpage, while you were excited about the icon design. I don't know if you've ever gotten to read that article I recommended to you sometime this year, but I think you should not show too much humility here. You chose this project because you're interesting in contributing your design skills to the OLPC project, and not so you can be a free-labor force for whatever this developer group needs. I do hope you get to the point were you're gladly contributing on more than one aspect, but I think you need to become more involved first.

What I recommend is for you to do what you're excited about first, and then if you develop working relations and feelings of belonging I am sure you will help more. For you to just automatically fill any graphic need would not be a sustainable open source work relationship and would not make the benefit of what you have to give.

This seems good to send, though I agree there is yet some more work to be done on the navigation, it's not there yet.

I would also edit the text just a bit to mention these are ideas you're playing with and request some feedback for, and by any means not yet finished mockups.
