Hey gang. I’m posting this on the off chance that anyone might be checking in here but I’ve done some more revisions on my Heavenly Cakes site. I’m posting just the home page. After taking a break, I went back and looked at this page and anything that drew my eye that didn’t offer additional information I either eliminated or altered. I think it’s a lot cleaner, certainly simpler but I wonder if I haven’t lost the whimsy that my client requested. As always, I’m eager for your input.
On another note, I hope everyone’s Summer is going well and I can’t wait to hear about your exploits!

This is definitely looking better.
To make it even better I would recommend limiting the variety of font-sizes that you’re using and coming up with more consistant typographic rules.

I like it much better as well! I especially like the search button now. I also like the contrast of the very clean picture arrangement with the decorative type. It balances well.
