Nigel’s Eco Store (Final)

Something weird is going on with the type on our pages. Or maybe just in mine, but I worked at 72dpi and it’s odd that the type looks so pixelized! Didn’t have this problem when we were still using Illustrator, and I’m not quite sure how to fix this. I’ve never had this problem in Photoshop before. I tried making a new document thinking that the file got corrupted in some manner but all the type below 14pt is looking pixelized and thinner than usual. Can anyone help? ![]()

Widget: Celebrity Fashion Prowler (Revised Wireframe and Default Frame)
Hey guys,
I’ve really gone over the idea for my widget and decided to simplify its purpose. I had wanted it to do too many things last week and now I think it’s doing a more comfortable amount of stuff. Whereas before I had wanted the user to be able to browse through different choices of the same item and get the best deal, I have decided to show only one choice (the best match) for each part of the celebrity’s outfit. The main purpose of this widget is no longer for a person to necessarily purchase the items, but it is to inform him/her about the components of the celebrity’s outfit so that he/she may learn how to put their own cool outfits together and discover his/her own style. Of course, one can still buy the items that will be shown when you hover over the celebrity’s look online. Clicking on the image will bring you to the website where the item is sold.
So, here’s my Widget- Revised Wireframe. And what follow are the images of my widget in its default mode and my widget as seen in context (on the Dashboard and on a website).

Design and personalize your own Puma, Nike and Converse shoes on the Internet and have it delivered to your doorstep? Gotta love it!
Puma: Puma Mongolian Shoe BBQ
Nike: Nike iD
Converse: Converse Design Your Own
For a few bucks more than what you would pay at your nearby Foot Locker, you can get a pair of one-of-a-kind, personalized Puma, Nike and Converse shoes all designed by you! :) Ever catch yourself thinking, “Hmm, I would totally buy this pair of sneakers if only the swoosh were blue instead of orange?” Well, no need to fret. For all the sneaker lovers out there, the chance to make yourself a unique pair that only another person of the same design sensibilities could dream up is too tempting to pass up. I’ve personally spent quite a few hours of my life just trying to come up with the pair that I would have loved to see in stores but have never been able to find. Here’s the chance to cook up that shoe you’ve always dreamed of.
How it works? The three companies use differently-designed but all very interesting interfaces. The first step is choosing the kind of shoe that you want to “pimp.” For Converse, for example, you can choose between Hi-cut and Low-cut Chuck Taylors, Jack Purcells and Converse One Stars among others. After that, choose your gender, your size, and then you get to the fun part! A color palette is laid out for each part of the shoe and you are asked to choose the color of your liking. Puma’s shoes are the most fun to design because of the great many number of parts involved in creating their shoes. You’ll also learn a thing or two about how shoes are cut and put together the way Puma has laid out its parts. Of course, the best part is previewing the shoes you’re creating every time you make a change. There’s a growing satisfaction whenever you slap on another color, another feature. You are also able to personalize your shoe! They will embroider or print some characters onto a part of the shoe for you. (Maximum of 12 characters for Nike.) And voila! Spankin’ new sneakers that are your very own!

I’ve also uploaded some initial sketches for how it will look like in three stages of interaction.
There will be more, but I haven’t gotten around to them yet because I have to figure out if the info architecture works first.
Widget: Celebrity Fashion Prowler- Shop your favorite celeb’s style!
What is it? The Celebrity Fashion Prowler is a widget that displays a picture of a celebrity of your choice in a stylish outfit worth recreating for yourself and takes care of prowling the net and shopping the look for you! By prowling through online shops using keywords from the given outfit (for example, “sailor-inspired striped top”), and displaying the numerous choices for each part of the outfit with the prices and links to the websites selling these items, this widget will help you sport your own Sarah Jessica Parker outfit in no time!
How can you find something that fits your budget and your own quirky style? You can refine the choices that the Celebrity Fashion Prowler brings up by setting a price range for each of the different items included in the outfit (top, bottom, jewelry, bag, scarf, sunglasses, etc.) You may also narrow down choices by specifying colors or by typing in more specific keywords.
In what environment can the widget be found? On your desktop, your dashboard, your fashion website and style blog, or your Internet browser-enabled cellphone. Have it with you whenever you feel like having your fashion fix and spending a few bucks (Okay, maybe not just a few).
