Hey everyone,

Sitting here working on my website realizing how much I have learned since we first worked on our first site.
Even though this is still a work in progress and I was wondering if anybody was online with any feedback. Would be very grateful.

Things I still have to work on are:

Menu spacing

Bottom menu (maybe)

Before and after picture choices

And the whole Donation page.

Mushon, am trying to get into your class after all. Do you know if there is still space?

Nigel’s Eco Store

Yoko, Lady and I (Leonie) decided to change the website we originally wanted to work with to: Nigel’s Eco Store. This site is very similar to the one we discussed in class but may need more of our attention.

GOALS: Our goal for the redesign of this site is to a) reach a different audience and b) to make it more user friendly.

AUDIENCE: Nigel’s Eco Store is looking to expand from a more local Sussex, UK-based audience to include a more metropolitan customers living in London, NY and LA. Nigel currently seems to have a more “tree hugging” audience who are looking for day-to-day eco-friendly products in and around the house. While the need for these products hasn’t changed we hope to to target a more sophisticated audience who will embrace eco-friendly products not only as a trend but as a way of living.

USER FRIENDLINESS: Customers have been feeling overwhelmed with the amount of information provided to them when they first reach the site. Our goal is to make the navigation through the site and the purchasing process easier and more streamlined.

USER SCENARIO: Please look at the site map below as a reference. Rather than being bombarded with all available products we want to recategorize the products to make it easier for the customer to find what they want or need. For example: When the viewer first arrives at the home page, he/she will see selected “Best Sellers” and “Whats New” items on display. In the menu bar he/she will find general categories such as: Eco Home, Eco Fashion, Eco Equipment, Eco Gifts and Eco Education. A search button and a shopping cart are also available. These links will lead them to another page with subcategories of their choice. Once they pick the category of their choice they will be directly led to the corresponding product and shopping options.

CHANGES TO BE MADE:

1. Re-categorization of products, 2. Clean up navigation, 3. Change logo heading size, 4. Update color scheme, 5. Put less emphasis on Blog (because it leads customers to other sites), 6. Improve product representation, 7. Assess purchasing experience and implement any changes

Facebook Hollar Widget

Hey guys! I have been playing around with Facebook all week to see how it works. I must say a lot of things dont really seem to work very well. Or maybe it is just me.

I redesigned my widget now to fit into their website. Therefor it does not really look like any of your widgets anymore. But it seems to fit their structure. Let me know what you think.

Hollar!

Here is my Widget in different scenarios showing the wire frame. I am not sure of this is clear. As discussed in class I looked at dodgeball and realized that it would be better to have the message receiving and sending via text messages. However there is a online place where you can write these messages which will then show up on your friends phones or as an email (depending on your choice at the sign up level) Therefor I have designed the icon and the online message sending options. The icon buttons can be pushed, but would only show up as a list in the message (from steve smith: party,open: stanton Social, stanton street and duane street

I could really use the feedback.
