Hi, please

A New Journey into DIY

diy600

So I remember this coming up when we were starting our 3rd travelogue and I was really interested in it. I wanted to divulge into the world of DIY (do it yourself) culture. The internet has allowed people to share all different sorts of information when it comes to creating. There are websites that tell you how to knit but there are also websites that tell you ten different ways to create a bong/pipe or even a bomb. I wasn’t sure what guidelines I wanted to create but I was thinking of limiting myself to illegal things that DIY websites teach users how to make and the effects of this on society, specifically DIY bombs/weaponry and school shootings.

I have to admit, this can be kind of creepy…

pssst. hey jess, you do know I did my travelogue on DIY right? lol I’m just kidding – focusing specifically on bombs sounds like a cool idea. I would enjoy listening/watching to your casts that.

Lol yes, I did see you did it on DIY but I wanted to go a totally different route with the whole concept. Like you said, I thought it may be neat to use casts with the topic, as long as it doesn’t make me out to be some nutty bomber to the google police.

cool. You can definitely have a different take on this. But I would recommend you re-read Angela’s travelogue and the comments to it as it can give you a lot of insights to the subject.

I’m posting this right after that heated discussion, but in terms of monitoring the Net so that creeps don’t bomb schools, I was recently reading an article where school officials were keeping eye out for kids who showed “terrorist tendencies.” One example was a total straight A kid, who once said something siding with the sentiments of Al-qaeda online somewhere, and he was then added to a growing (+200) list of school kids.
